Which gun?

This is my first year turkey hunting. Which gun would be better?

Rem 1100 semi 12ga 3" w/mod barrel
Win 1300 pump 20ga 3" w/ "choke-able" barrel

I would like to use my Rem 870 16ga w/mod barrel and scope, but I have not seen any 16ga turkey loads.

Of those 3 the 20 only because you can get a turkey choke screwed in it.

I would waste my time putting a scope on mod choked 16ga

I'd buy a barrel for the 1100 that will accept RemChokes.

Right now I'd go with the 20 ga. An after-market turkey choke makes a huge difference. The Undertaker choke with 3" Winchester supreme # 5s is a cheap place to start the patterning process of that gun.

imo i think the 1100 would be better with extended range win. or nitro,even though it has a fixed mod. barrel.Just pattern the 20ga and the 12ga and see witch one has the better results.

They only make 2 3/4 for 16. My mod barrel shoots as tight as the full barrel I have. If you get'em within 25 yards in won't matter any way.
