Which CZ rifle?

I have a CZ 453 that I just got. However, I was thinking I wanted, and asked for a 455.

So, should I keep the 453 (retail $560) or get the 455 with interchangable barrels (retail $425)...I don't really care about the barrel option.

The 453 has a "single set trigger" which I am not sure what that means. I want the one that will be shooter friendly and most accurately. What is the set trigger deal?

the set trigger should have a screw sticking down in front of the rigger to adjust the set,,push the trigger forward to set it and see how you like it,,I like the 452 the best but would rather have the 453 as the 455 any day,,the only difference in the 452 and 453 is the trigger,,the bbls are threaded and screwed into the action like a Rem 700,not pressed or pinned.they will shoot.most 453`s have nicer wood but not always,remember they are phasing out the 452-3 models and making the cheaper 455 in their place,,I would keep the gun you have,is it a Varmint American or what?

just make sure you clean all the cosmoline or whatever they use from the bbl before you shoot it.

I have a 453 with a 4x scope and I can cover 5 shots with a dime size hole at 50 yds off the corner of my truck bed with a cheap scope lol.

I do not put the time in like mr. big but that rifle will shoot better than me. If I don't earhole a squirrel it's my fault. The trigger is great and then you set and wow.


better be on a rest with the trigger set. The 455 is a nice rifle I handled 1 the other day at the gunshop. In my opinion the 453 is way ahead with the better stock and trigger. Mine just needs a better scope.

Looks like I'll keep what I have. What is the best stuff to clean the barrel out with the first time. I rarely if ever clean my other 22's.

I used straight Kroil and soaked it good and let sit about 10 minutes,then repeat 5-6 times,,any kind of thin penetrating oil should work,,copper or powder fouling cleaner wont work.
