Found a pic of Catman fishing one of his secret spots
Son,you don't have to justify fishing to anyone. Fishing for anything, any place, any way! I'm way down in years. I have done stuff like that all of my life and still do! If you're fooling fish, having fun, then do it. I think its fun just to see what's in a hole like that, the number of species present, and occasionally a surprise size.catman529 said:THERE'S A 20 POUND CARP IN THERE!
You should have seen the hole I caught a bullhead out of recently. It's a 5" long bullhead that now lives in my aquarium. The creek bed was almost dried up from the drought, and there was a hole less than half the size of that one in the pic, with wood debris over the top. Just a 2ft-deep crevice in the rock. I fished with a 2' homemade spinning rod and a 1" fragment of worm on a barbless hook. There were a lot of green sunfish, a few creek chubs, and at least 2 bullheads in that hole. But I was fishing specifically for an aquarium specimen, if that justifies it.![]()
