Where would you go if you had $5,000 to go on a hunt . It could be guided or diy or a landowner tag . What animal and where would you go ?

But if you are caught up with the deer hunting, then go elk hunting out west when the aspens are turning and hunt in the spruce and aspen from say 9000 feet up. Even if you do not get an elk, the scenery and the bugling and the weather will make for a great trip.

Then I would start contacting outfitters around those trophy units and start negotiating a price. A DIY trophy Elk hunt in the High Country can be done, but if you have the $$ it has got to well worth the investment to hire an outfitter that has pack animals, is familiar with the area, and has all the equipment needed. Plus its always a good idea to have an extra gun in grizzly country!
But that kind of money could also pay for a few DIY hunts out west as well.
