RED = THICKET
YELLOW = SMALL DRAINAGES
PINK = SCRAPES (3)
GREEN = SOYBEAN FIELDS
ORANGE = PARKED TRUCK

My thinking was to setup between those fields and the thicket assuming that's there feeding area and that thicket being the bedding...the river is on the backside of thicket
 
would be nice if you could enter using river. depending on wind dir i would like to stay close to north side of thicket and catch buck scent checking along thicket. kinda looks hard to enter where parking is and not spook deer n mornings
 
Yes ive already ruled out morning hunts...strictly evenings.....ive only been in this area twice and haven't figured where deer are moving only deer sign is the scrape
 
I wouldn't rule out morning hunts, just get in there couple hours before first light on really good conditions and correct wind days.

First thing your thinkin about is gettin out of the truck and going straight thru bean field . I wud too. Flank it and hit that funnell between the fields and the bedding areas. And stay all day. Good luck to you.
 
In all seriousness tho, I'd set up where the strip between the back 2 fields goes into the woods and hunt any south wind in that location. I see several ways you can hunt this tho.

What funnel u refering to?
 
Update.....setup over the drainage /scrapes this afternoon and had a 2 year old 100-110" 8 point cruise through with 10 min of light left i elected to pass.....it came from the thicket heading NW-SE towards the fields check the cam over the scrape and have 6a different small bucks visiting since friday evening.....
 
It is hard to tell the exact terrain features but there appears to be a low gap entering into the thicket. It is South of the scrapes between the two high knobs. By land features there is a funnel somewhere between there and the scrapes. If I were hunting this, I would walk it to find IMO the best funnel into the thicket in this generalarea and setup there. This could very well be where you are set up in the drainage ditch where the scrapes are or there may be more than one funnel in that general area. Looks good from your description IMO.
