Where to buy supplies

Hey guys I'm new to reloadding and was wondering where yall bought powder and primer from. I found what I was looking for on midway but it says there's a 28 dollar charge for hazmat. Is there a place locally that you get supplies from or is there no real way around this? I live in cannon county by the way

Bass Pro Shops and Academy Sports have reloading supplies if you are just looking for powder, primers, and commonly used brass. If you are wanting to go somewhere that has a large selection, try AH Reloading in Nashville and the The Reloaders Bench in Mt Juliet. AH Reloading has odd days they are open so give them a call and find out if they are open before you run down there.

If you have a spreadsheet program create a list something like this (its what I use)

and just to reiterate, you cannot escape the HazMat fee unless you buy in person and carry home yourself.

HazMat fee applies to powder and primers but not loaded ammo or even already primed brass.

Best selection I have seen is the Outdoor Junction, exit 290 off I40. There is a big pawn shop about 25 miles north of Cookeville (forget the name) that also has a huge selection.

Outpost us a decent selection but staff is not great in my experience. Reloaders bench in my juliet has great selection and knowledgable staff.... In my experience at least

the gun shop is the name of the pawn store. Better price on primers than outdoor junction. Powder is roughly the same but the bullet selection is poor. Bend of the river has some good prices too

Always buy powder and primers locally because as Daveb said, the hazmat fees are deal breakers. Bullets & brass and tools and aids can be had internet or wherwherever you find the deals.When you go on road trips, you can check around for deals on powder & primers. I scored 5 lbs. of Varget while down in Florida last summer and that stuffs like trying find hens teeth right now.

Once you get the reloading disease really bad and start buying powder in the 8 lb cans and primers by the case, places like Powder Valley or Midsouth aren't bad at all because you are dividing the HazMat charge over a lot of components. The more you spend, the more you save. My wife disagrees with that statement but what does she know??? :)
