where do you aim?

Whats the difference from shooting from the ground and out of the tree? I mean I know the obvious like angle but if I shoot 2inch groups on the ground will they still be that way from a tree? I have a matthews outback and I shoot well from the ground but I am curios how it will do from the tree. Where do I aim higher lower how do I or do I compensate the angle? My bow shoots really fast and flat does that make a difference? Any help will be appreciated.

Only one way to find out for sure. Climb up in a stand and shoot. Nobody else can tell you how you and your bow will perform. That is like asking how will my gun shoot that was sighted in by someone else. You have to have first hand experience.

The main thing to keep in mind is proper form and bend at the waist rather than dropping your bow arm to aim downward.

there is alot to know and it does matter ur height in tree but i always shoot for th exit no matter if he is close shoot for the top lung and u will get both always shoot for good exit

Take a 3-D target and practice shooting from different heights and positions . I like to aim lower for extreme angled shots . The key is to keep your form by bending at the waist .

I have never done this. But I try to mark each my area out to abot 30 yrds. The reason I even asked this question was I used to bow hunt alot when I was young and the last deer I remember missing I shot at from the tree the dang arrow went over his back dont know if I just misjudged the deer or if it was something else I done worng but since I am getting the chance to hunt again with a bow I dont want to make the same mistakes again. I have had more trouble with this than ever this year. I have my bow sited in so it is hitting about 1.5 inches low out on the range. Now that being said, I have had two shots out about 28-30yards. Both times I had my pin set at 25yards(it is an adjustable sight) So on a deer that is 30yards I should aim dead on. Not the case apperantly. I've missed high twice. I shoot at least 3-4 times a week so I know the bow is on. What the heck is going on here. Now I know that one of those shot was down hill so I might be able to understand that one, but missing deer high that are 30 yards with a 25 yard pin. ????????????

A deer will duck at the sound of the shot . Many guys aim too high on a deer like they are shooting a 3-D target . I aim low at the heart ,and hit most of them through the lungs .

I use to sight my bow in low like you so I would not have to compensate for "jumping the string"...I don't do this anymore for one you still try to compensate for the deer's action...get a true sight in at the range and just relax!! It might be the bowtech. j/k Go to the fixed pins it might help..

Aim dead on!!! except when the deer is straight under you!! you need to aim dead center of the deer's back!!!

I bow hunt with a Leupold rangefinder that does the math depending on the angle. Well worth the moeny to know where to put the pin. Can be off as mush as 10-12 yds depending of the distance,and tree height.

Most of us shoot bows that shoot fast and flat, but the angle changes the distance which you need to know to know where to put the pin. All arrows are effected by gravity.

Well the reason I sight in low is because of my eysight. I have to wear glasses or I can't even begin to see the target. So what happens it that my pin turns in to a big blob and it covers too much of the target. Yes I am shooting a .019. So when target shooting i put my target right on top of my pin. Make sense? That way I can see the what I am shooting at. So the bow is really hitting high. So when I say sighting in low I am actually putting right where it should be. Sounds complicated I know, but my eye sight skrews me up pretty bad.

I have tried putting the sight out on the riser as far as it goes, but then the sight window is too small.

But anyway thanks for the info. i will just have to aim lower.
