I believe this is the lowest number of ducks in West Tenn. since the nineties. The refuges numbers are down from my observations and that is with conditions to the north that favor this area.

We went yesterday and managed to get two. One greenhead and a blackjack. The hole was frozen so we opened up a great hole. The river is the only thing separating us from Lake Laudedale Refuge and in the last few years under these conditions we would be limited out by the middle of the morning.

SO WHERE ARE THE DUCKS???????????

I have a buddy I hunt with every year during the week of Christmas in Dyer County. In past years, we have had great hunts and limited out very quickly. I hunted 2 days last week in Dyer County and we killed only 1 duck each day. We hunt near Lauderdale refuge as well. The hunting is terrible right now. I don't know what the answer is. I am done for the year, but I hope Jan. is better for you guys. Maybe they will start to fly. good luck.
