Where are the acorns?

One of the best years I have seen for acorns in a long time.

I was on Priest today and saw very few, but it may have been the area that I was in.

Priest is always "spotty" from year to year. Overall rutherford county is off the chart from what I have seen. Kind of sucks for sure.

I'll step foot onto the hunting property for the first time this year and I'll constantly be looking up. Matter of fact, my neck is the first muscle of the year that gets sore when scouting for deer season from constantly glassing tree tops.

That's funny because on my property (Readyville) I'm seeing nodes on my post oaks but not much on my reds.

You know funny/odd. Because I am not seeing that. I wish I was, but I am not and my property is in Rutherford county.

I haven't went to in-depth checking oaks, but I have checked several white oaks that I hunt each year and they were pretty bare.

^^^^ Of course that tree has acorns, it is in someone's front yard. That is typical for my area too, some years you can't find a white oak dropping in the woods, but the ones around town and at deer camp are loaded and bombing, and mainly rotting over time.

Walked and looked on the Hardeman/Fayette County line again yesterday and only found 1 more white oak with acorns. For the first time ever I'm even having trouble finding reds.

^^^^You've looked A LOT more than me Mike, and I really hope your initial perception of few acorns holds true. As you know, we need every advantage that we can get to encourage daylight deer movement.

Last year was great for me and daytime movement. There were also not many acorns in my area. I looked early in Rutherford and saw very few, but after further review, I've actually found some white oaks with acorns. That being said, the reds are spotty at best.
