I know not your typical, "ask TWRA" question but I've been trying to remember what year lifetime licenses were first offered.
I think they were initially $1,200 but I'm not sure on that either.
I don't remember the year but it wasn't long after I got married almost 34 years ago. my wife wouldn't let me buy it, she thought we would starve for 6 months.

I'm not sure when they were authorized. In looking at the TCA code covering all licenses including the lifetime, it looks like it may have taken place in 2003 or 2004. That is the time frame that I would have guessed.
The licenses were $1200 when they first came out. I dug deep (no discount) and bought the fourth one issued with the thought process that I would either get my money's worth out of it, or be dead where it wouldn't matter. It paid for itself several years ago.
