Anybody know when the walleye/sauger start moving up from the main lake to get ready to spawn? (center hill)

I live close to Rock Island and want to give them a try now that deer season is over.
Thanks

The walleye will be up in the sandbar area by the end of the month and will be real good mid February. I also live close to rock island if u need someone to fish with pm me

Do either of you kayak fish? I wanted to head that way last Winter/Early Spring to get after the Walleye but never got a good chance. I'd like to try it this year and fish with someone who knows these fish because I certainly don't.

I fish out of a yak I don't know the walleye to good but I'd be willing to give it a heck of a try. I can talk to a few locals. I know the spots to catch them just haven't ever tried it.

From what I read, trolling is a very effective way to catch them. Make sure you're aware of the special rules in that part of the lake from January through April. Only ONE hook allowed per sure. No trebles, no multi-hook setups. So I was thinking of having like 4 rods setup to troll those Walleye spinners and tip them with minnows or something.

One hook only above the sandbar ramp I think. Which is not where I would be interested in fishing

IF.....IF Everything goes right I may be able to sneak out later this week for a quick fish/scout trip and see if anything is happening.
Ill post a report if I get lucky and can hit the water.

Went yesterday . Fished for 5 hours. Not one bite. Minnows, spinners, cranks....nada.
Saw ONE guy with a walleye on his stringer. Didn't see anybody set a hook all day.
