Ive never killed a deer opening day. I don't normally get one in the freezer until mid-late October.

When do y'all usually get your first deer of the season?

The past few years it has been whenever I decided to shoot. On average I would say in the first week. Monday is my opener so I will let you know! :)

I've killed a doe opening weekend of bow 5 out of the last 6 years. This weekend, I haven't seen a deer yet. Not looking good so far

I don't hunt horns so for me it is the first day or two, usually the first day if I go. This year, it wa sin the first quarter-hour.

Only been killin deer for 2 years and bowhunting for 1. Killed a deer on rifle opener past 2 years and killed my first bow deer last year on October 5. Gonna see if I can kill one before October... Hope to get out in the AM, gotta work all day today.

Usually in Muzzle loader, I haven't gotten an archery deer in the last 4 years. I did get a doe 5 years ago during archery, but that is the only archery deer period.

I probably average mid Bow season... but got one opening morning this year. I tend to set the bar real low until I get one. Then I'm more selective in what I shoot.

I usually don't start seeing deer consistently until the 2nd or 3rd weekend. Usually deer is in the freezer my the end of muzzleloader.

Well I got my first this year on the last day of September. 3 goals met - kill one in September, kill one with spots so I can tan the hide, and kill one from ground with a bow. Now I'm off tomorrow to try yet again to meet another big goal - kill one with a bow on public land.

Use to during archery season but haven't hunted it since 2008 so it's usually with a muzzleloader. These days my son does the shooting and I only want 1 or 2 for the year as he and I are the only ones that eat it. My wife and daughter do not. So unless I know somebody that wants one I lay off for those times he's with me and I will only shoot a buck that I'd put on the wall. Last year I didn't kill a deer and he killed 2.

Last 3 years its been opening day. This year coulda shot a good 8, but was a little risky and he had no clue I was there so he got a walk. But i got his # and will get him soon.

I hunt almost every weekend of the season starting with the archery opener & see many deer while in the stand but I take a week vacation every year for the opening week of ML & that seems to be when first blood is drawn. The funny thing is that it is not because of using a " firearm " that I connect, all are always within my archery comfort zone of 30 yds. or less.
