Whats your Skipjack rig?

I use three road runners tied about 1 foot apart,throw it on a bait caster and burn it.Worked ok yesterday at steam plant.Caught about 12 in 2 hours.Any body do it different?

Its been my experience up at the steam plant that if they are running, they will pretty much eat anything. I like to throw white grubs on ultralight gear.

Whats the stream plant like these days. I have not been up there in years. Kind of got fed up with all the bank fishermen. I heard they stopped letting people fish the bank anymore after 9/11 like they did below the dam at Percy Priest. Did they open it back up again? Are there as many people as there used to be?

no fishing on bank signs are up,wasnt crowded at all,but on weekends may be different.5 boats including mine yesterday.

Yes... Sabiki Rig is my favorite, without question.

The size of the jig head depends on the wind and current. I will use anything from 1/32 to 1/8 with a 1 to 2 inch white grub on 4lb test on a 5 foot ultra light rod. A 12 inch skipjack can be allot of fun.

I'm glad they still don't allow bank fishing. Imagine 5 boats and 50 or more people lining the banks.

They opened up fishing below priest dam years ago, they still do not allow bank fishing at the steam plant.

I use 1/64oz white hair jigs. I tie 2 or 3 about a foot apart up my line and tie a 1/4oz sinker one foot below my bottom jig. Use 4 -8lb test line. Throw as far as you can and wind medium fast. If they are around, you shoud catch at least one every throw.

I use a 7 weight fly rod, fast sink tip line, White and Chartreuse Clouser minnow.

Best action I've had while able to keep track is 7 straight casts with a landed fish. Usually a break off ends the string.

So you are saying if you don't have a boat, you shouldn't deserve to fish? Is this the attitude I sense?

The real reason they closed the steam plant to bank fishing was because of all of the trash that was being left. TVA used 9/11 as the scapegoat.

So you are saying if you don't have a boat, you shouldn't deserve to fish? Is this the attitude I sense?

Have you been to the steam plant? Are you one of the former bank fishermen? Nobody said they don't deserve to fish. I was saying that the fishing is better without all the bank fishermen.

Its a very simple equation that most fishermen know about.

Less pressure = better fishing

Makes sense seeing as you can still hunt the steam plant. The number of people fishing the bank got out of hand. It was always a mess. No one hauled out their garbage.
