Unfortunately until I retire (many, many years) I have to hunt when my work/family schedule permits so I don't always get to choose the best days to hunt. So I am in the woods as much as possible. With that being said, a day where the weather is more favorable motivates me to sit in the stand a little longer. I enjoy mid 30's with a slight breeze and some overcast. Days like that it seems I could sit in the stand forever.

So what is your opinion on the weather? Is it better before a front, after a front, sunny skies, light rain, overcast... What is your favorite forecast that you like to hunt in?
 
Low 30's at sunrise, High in the high 40's to low 50's - totally overcast and completely calm. Whether or not I see deer, at least I'm comfortable and the sun isn't shining in my eyes. :D
 
Two days after a serious cold front moves through and the temp is up a few degrees, but still brutal(<15 degrees). No wind or wind from the north. The deer have to eat.
 
Pre frontal High pressure always a plus! Cold drizzling days during the rut have always produced encounters with the biggest bucks on my properties as well.

I don't bow hunt and 1st season shotgun is 1st weekend in December for 5 days and late ML starts December 19th for 3 weeks and I'd prefer the temps be around 0 for several nights before and during to get the deer bunched up and into cover versus laying out in the wide open. Some sun and temps warming to low teens during the afternoon is good along with 2" to 5 " of snow as long as I'm wishing.
 
Hard to beat a heavy frost and the sun pops out.
And any time you can see the moon in the day time.
 
32-35 degrees at sunup with a light frost. A northerly breeze 5-7 mph. Clear skies.
or
40-45 degrees at 3:30 in the afternoon with clear skies, a 0-5 mph breeze, and a full moon directly overhead.
