What's going on with this one?

This is definitely one of my target bucks due to his crazy antler formation. The 2 photos are from 2022, one in velvet, the other as I was watching him chase does. He was too far away for me to ever get a clear shot. The other night he showed up for the first time this season. Is this pedicle damage or something else playing into the equation?

Could be antlered doe, but they rarely display hard antler. I suspect major damage to both pedicles.

Had one like that in 2021 - a 3 1/2 year-old buck with antlers that were just clusters of spikes on both sides. In 2022, he was 4 1/2 with massively tall palmated spikes on both sides.

He would make a super cool skull mount.

The video gives a pretty good view of what's between his legs. There's something dangling, but not much for him to brag about.

You're right. Didn't see that video first time round. That's what I was wanting to see. No nut sack so either a doe or damaged goods buck. Looks like he's got the pecker so probably got testicles snagged in a fence or similar.

I had one similar a few years ago. Named him "Bruce Jenner".

Generally, loss of testicles produces a cactus rack. Cactus racks almost never lose their velvet. But it all depends on how much testosterone the buck's body can still produce.
