If you had a good boat, but it wasn't exactly what you want. and also had a four wheeler that has done nothing but collect dust since you bought it new in 04'. I'd like to down-size on the boat slightly and the 4-wheeler is useless since we sold our farm because none of the places I hunt allow ATV's.

A. Sell them both and combine the profit to buy a slightly newer and more satisfying boat.

B. Keep them since they're both paid for.
 
If I'm not happy with it I would get rid of it.

-applies to everything in life but your kids.

Seriously, I can't look at something I own and wish for something a little better. I'd rather save my pennies till I can afford what I desire.

They are DEpreciating in value everyday, especially if your not happy with either, then they are really depressing. Sell them, pay off a credit card, and then save up for a better boat, or if you owe nothing, buy one that you will pay cash for. Heard someone here talking about a guy signing up on a 10year loan on a new Ranger.....other than cave diving I can't think of a dumber thing.

This is the way I'm thinking about it right now. As of right now all we owe for is my wife's car and our house. The way I see it if I can get around 8-10k for my two toys and save up a little extra to pay cash for another boat and still have the same small debt we have now I'd be comfortable with that. We have everything budgeted to my income alone and now that my wife has a descent income as well so I feel more comfy with wheeling and dealing a little for a little bit better toy. :D I don't want be irresponsible about it so I figured I'd get as many opinions as possible. It takes me months to buy things like this anyway... :D
 
If you look hard enough you could pay alot on your wifes car to try and pay it off early because the boat I bought last year is a 17' venoum bass boat with a 115hp on it for 5000. about 5600 with tax and all that stuff and This is waht I wanted looked for about a year or so and found what I wanted with a great deal, So I would say if both are paid for start lookin for what you want keep both till you find a good deal or sell the four wheeler and keep cash in hand to look but if you still fish or what ever with the boat you got just keep it until you find the one.

I'll tell you what. Let me have the four wheeler and I will keep the dust off of it for you. :grin: For what it is worth, I sold my Rhino to my father in law for the same reason. I just did not use it that much. Well, I regret it every day. I suddenly find myself needing it daily. Oh well.

LOL, let me test drive it this coming deer season and I will consider it. I need to make sure it meets up to my standards :D

Your exactly right. That is the only way to buy a bass boat. Find them a few years old and you can buy them much cheaper and still have a great boat.
