I will post this in the general forum as well.
I got drawn for LBL this year. Should have went last year, but had a big 14 pt on camera and wanted to hunt him. Now I have no pictures of him or the 10 pt he was running with since last Dec. I have had a few pics of 2.5 year old 8 pts, and possibly a 2.5 7 pt. They have since shifted. I know there was a good 8 last year that lived, but he doesn't show up until around the middle of November, so assuming he hasn't died by some other means, he should be back.
I took of Thursday and Friday to go to LBL. Of course Thursday is a travel and scouting day, so I can't hunt. If I go, I will hunt till Saturday and come home. At this point my wife will be ready to turn my 5 yr old over to me, and will not want me to hunt on Sunday AM. According tot he forecast (if it holds) Thursday AM is around 36 degrees here in Rutherford county. Friday and Saturday the am lows are bit lower than LBL, but the PM highs are a bit higher. However Sunday it is supposed to be 33 degrees. This will be the coldest it has been this year. I should also mention I have bought the $35 permit to camp and use LBL.
Obviously I'd be eating the $35 permit, but I could hunt Thursday all day, Friday all day, probably Saturday in the PM and then Sunday in the AM in Rutherford county. I have 2 does in the freezer, so no need to kill one, but I did say, this time If i drove up there and didn't see a buck by Saturday AM, that I would shoot a doe that morning if I saw one. I will not shoot a buck unless i would hang a tag on him anywhere.
Here is my question (obviously) should I go to LBL or just stay home?
