I need some outside opinions on this situation cause it has me to fired up to think clearly.

Ive been hunting the same little piece of woods for several years and right next to it is another man's property literally 5 times the size of ours with food plots and everything. I dont have permission to hunt over there so I don't matter of fact the only time Ive ever been over there was 4 years ago to recover a deer 100 yards over on their side and I had permission.

Anyway I get to my stand yesterday and I have a note nailed to my tree letting me know where the property line is and that their side is posted. The note also said they were letting me know so there wouldnt be any hunting accidents.

We never drive trucks or Atvs on this place just because its a small place and a short walk and we dont need to but someone decided to drive all over creation!

I hate to assume its the same person that left me the note but it happened on the same day cause I was in there the day before.

Im so dang mad I cant think straight so I need some advice from other hunters on how to handle this I mean if the guy is so dang worried about me trespassing why would he trespass just to leave me a note? Seems pretty crazy that they have hundreds of acres and have to come over on our little piece starting crap.

What he did was illegal , if I knew the person I would confront them, I would be nice as long as they were but I would definitely say something
 
I would assume they went to such great lengths to leave you a note because they believe some sort of problem is coming from your property. I would get in touch with that landowner and find out what kind of problem they are experiencing, and to assure him/her it isn't coming from you.

I honestly don't believe a neighbor would go to such lengths to put a note on your stand unless some sort of major problem has arisen, and they mistakenly believe you are the cause. having a friendly conversation is the best way to clear the air and reassure your neighbor.

Erroneous beliefs about neighbors actions can create life-long problems. Simply talking to a neighbor can head off those problems long before they fester into a major fued.

Yep. And they may have noticed the same tracks that you did, but they erroneously thought that it was you. Maybe you can form some sort of alliance to catch the perpetrators.

Try to talk to the neighbor about the problem if you can, sometimes there is nothing you can do. Take time to cool down and think it through, some say "Play the tape to the end" meaning try different ways to solve the problem in your head first instead of making it worse. Put yourself in there shoes and see if you can work it out. It's easy to make enemies but much harder to find a solution.

Had a guy a couple years back come to us FURIOUS about us fishing in his pond. Said our kid left his action figure on his Pier/Dock thing. We told him we didn't have kids and we would never cross the lines without asking. The next year we found a tent with a child's sleeping bag in it on our property. We took it to him and laughed about it. He has since moved away and the new owners are the ones we suspect of shooting deer in bow season with rifles. So... could be worse!

How far did he have to drive from the property line to find your stand? Not sure why you would be bent out of shape. Looks like an opportunity to maybe make a hunting connection and work together with a neighbor.
