What variety of pears to plant

Keiffer is a very good choice. Theres not really a best answer, theres alot of pear varieties out there and it all depends on how much space you have and what your goal is. If you just want some pears to hunt over then Kieffer is probably your best bet along with some of these other late bearers that specialty nurseries have been coming out with. However Im not going to recommend that anyone plant trees just to shoot deer over, I will instead recommend to plant varieties with different drop times in order to provide deer and other wildlife with a longer term food source. I personally have Moonglow, Ayers(Sugar), Bartlett, and Kieffer. Whcih should provide pears from August to November. Pears are much easier to grow than apples so I definitely recommend them.
