I HAVE RECENTLY GOTTEN PREMISSION TO HUNT 30 ACERS. IN CLABORNE CO. IT IS AN OLD SMALL FARM. 5 ACERS IS AN OLD FEILD THAT IS GROWN UP. THE REST IS A NICE HARDWOOD RIDGE THAT BACKS UP TO A LARGE THICKET. THE OWNER SAID THAT NO ONE HE KNOWES OF HAS HUNTED THERE SINCE HE HAS OWNED IT.( OVER 20 YEARS) HE DOES NOT LIVE ON THIS PROPERTY. I WENT AND CHECKED IT OUT AND THERE IS VERY GOOD DEER SIGN EVERYWHERE. SHOULD I BUSHOG AND PLANT SOMETHING IN THE FEILD OR LEAVE IT?

I'd say depends on how you want to hunt. If hunting just the woods, yeah leave it as is. Cut a strip or two through the field otherwise. We hunt pretty much all fields & cut strips through a couple of them, the other fields are hay fields. Cutting the strips works rather well too.

put me a treestand up between the food and the thicket. we will drink coffee and become buddies.
