Trying a different approach this year and going Saturday afternoon. Plan to be in the stand just a little before lunch and stay until last legal shooting light.

well I have to be in early, since I will be hunting public land, so I will be up there about 30-45 minutes before legal light.
First shooting like is 6:11 at my spot. I plan to be settled in the tree by 5:45. A half hour is plenty of time to let things settle and let the excitement build.
I'll probably get settled a little earlier than that. I leave a little earlier on the first hunt to give myself plenty of time to screw something up.

It's not legal to be on old hickory wma before 4am, I will be in my stand at 415am
Been getting on stand between 5:30 and 5:45 CT. Been breaking daylight around 6:10.

Seen any good ones at your spot? I haven't had a single decent buck on cam at mine. I'll be there some next week though.
I haven't seen any but that is just because I never run cameras anymore. I know they are there though and after hunting that property for the last eight years, I have a decent idea where to look. Closing the deal is another thing altogether though.

Any earlier is ridiculous regardless of where your Hunting unless you are setting up outside a bedding area and think/know a big buck will be slipping into right at daylight.
