Gonna have to research the smokeless variety it looks like. When you say "steep learning curve" what is the biggest challenge, just finding the correct powder/bullet combo or what? If y'all know any good websites to read up on them, post them or PM if you don't mind. Thanks

There's enough knowledgeable people here to answer just about any question you may have. But for reading material check out dougsmessageboards and hanksmessageboards. Lots of good info there. If you do Facebook check out smokeless shooters group

How much you want to spend and how much do you want to carry around? You will find is gets rather expensive if you want to carry a sub 8lb ML that is capable of smokeless but far less if you are happy with Blackhorn209 performance.
 
Well after reading up on some smokeless guns, looks like I need to stay with a regular ole inline smoke pole, $$$. Not looking to spend more than about $500 for rifle and scope. I had a T/C Omega that I wish I had never sold. Thanks for the information on the smokeless.

If $500 is the budget, I'd get a CVA Optima V2. That'll leave you a decent bit of cash for a scope.
 
CVA Optima V2 and a DNZ Game Reaper mount will be close to $300 in SS or $370ish in nitride. You can use the mount that is included but the DNZ is a better mount. Optimas start around $260 in SS/black but on sale you might save close to $50. Look for scopes with about 4" of eye relief due to mounting. The QRBP moves the mount a little forward so a little more eye relief helps.
 
I've got a TC with Leupold scope that needs a home. PM me if interested and we can agree on a price. I had the barrel Cerakoted and used it one short season.

I would buy one smokeless because it does alot of smoke. Like when I'm going to hunt ducks there's always alot of smoke and my lungs start to cough lol, anyway what scope u plan to use?? On my winchester I usually was using a nightforce scope but it was not so good because it was breaking many times, considering how many i've changed, but then I came across a guy that sold me a hunting scope that fits perfect my winchester, it was ATN X-Sight 4K Pro 5-20x, it even has nightvision, anyway, I'm still using that for a few months, it's very nice.
