I have the RCBS 5-10 scale. This is a beam type scale that I have used for several years. The problem I have had since I had it is the weight reading varies on where the load is on the pan. Usually if the load is centered I will get a different reading than if the load was on the side of the pan.
This may be a common problem with these, but this is the only one I have ever used. I always weigh every load that I am using for hunting or for target practice. I havent had any issues at the range, but I try to be as accurate as possible when reloading.

Is a digital scale that much better than what I am using? I dont think I want to invest the kind of money for a scale/trickler combo.

I use the RBCS 505. I bought the RCBS chargemaster with the trickler and went back to the 505. I find it much easer to use and it seems very accurate.

I've got an old RCBS 10/10. The digital scales aren't no more accurate but they are faster. Just be sure to put your load in the center of the pan every time. And make sure there are no ceiling fans going.

I found out about the fans early on. Even breathing will cause issues. I guess I will just keep using the same scale. Kinda a relief, I wasnt wanting to spend the money unless they are way better.

I have a Lyman DPS II powder charger. It's simple and fast. I can seat a bullet and the powder charger dumps for the next load. After is dumps the charge, I take it off the scale and re-weigh before dropping in the case and seat another bullet while it dumps another load. It's the best investment I've made for reloading.

a beam is fine for throwing powder but sort weighing stuff you need a digital,I have a 505 I use to check my dump and a Hornady digital,,

with most my loads I use slow enough powder that an over charge wont fit in the case

The chargemaster is nice. I have looked at them on several occasions. I just cant force myself to spend that king of money. I just dont reload enough to justify it yet.
