Hey guys I am new to artifact hunting. I found this many years ago in a field that had just been turned over. I have shown it to several people and they said it was not a real point. Other said it is. So I am hoping someone with alot more know how than me can tell me: One is it a point. two what kind.. third what time period. This was found in the Enka area of Western North Carolina. I recently moved to a new house and my neighbor is a big collector and he said it is a point because he has a bucket full of points like that made out of the same material. Sorry to be long winded. Again I am new to this and have recently started looking with my daughter. We have found a couple points in the last couple weeks. Again thanks for any info you can provide.

It may or may not be a point, wouldn't surprise me either way. Just really no way for me to tell unless I was holding it. If it is indeed a point, it's not from the older periods I don't think. There are others on here that has a lot more knowledge than I do, they'll chime in when they see it

Thanks rockhound. The top one is for not the normal material you would see. Like I was saying my neighbor has a bucket full of points made out of that material and it all came for western NC
