I have a friend that has a rather extensive (and expensive) collection of firearms.
His "thing" is the Browning A5 though.
He absolutely LOVES them.
Not so much the newer ones but he concentrates on the older, Belgium made guns.

I rekon mine is the Ruger 10-22.
Can't really explain why, it just is.

So what is yours?
 
Still have my Browning lever action 22 I've had for around 45 years now. Had it re-blued once and redid the stock replaced a few parts from years of shooting, but it still works just fine. First gun I ever bought, paid $112 for it including a case and a brick of 22 shells.
 
I am not ashamed, I will say it. Remington 700's. All of the best custom actions are a clone of the remington 700 action. Of course, rem 700 and most other actions are all based on the mauser action.
 
For utility, Remington 700. From a factory standpoint...For pure accuracy, smooth feeding and extraction like it has eyes? Sako.

Although if an X-bolt in any flavor came my way I would probably say adios pretty quick.

My interests are too wide and varied to chose just one gun. I have more Remington 700's than any other single firearm but that is more of a result of Remington's chambering choices lining up more with my Varmint hunter tastes than any conscious choosing of model 700's. For shotguns I'd have to say that the Ithaca 37 has no equal for my shotgun uses. I don't turkey hunt nor do I hunt waterfowl so I don't need a magnum chamber - light weight is everything to me in a shotgun. The 37 excels in that area. When it comes to handguns, they perfected them back in 1873 with the Colt single action. :) I have two that have a lot of wear from constant carry on the farm. If I'm outside the house I probably have one of my 45 Colts on my hip.
 
MP5. Better than a Blue Pill for me. I like all the HK delayed blow backs but, the MP5 has always been my favorite. Watching 80s movies as a kid must be why. Sure wish my Dad could have afforded picking one or two up when they were cheap and importable. He never listened. :bash:

there was one on GB last week ,,it was a short bbl rifle,had a can and the fun switch,,42,000$$ plus 3 tax stamps and shipping,,
 
ANY 28 gauge shotgun. Love the gauge and never shot one I didn't like. Got several but right now, my 1100 sporting in 28 gauge gives me warm fuzzies every time we shoot stuff!!!!
 
I've become a lever man the last few years, mostly Marlins. But, if I had to chose one gun to hunt with the rest of my life it'd be my Rem 700 30-06 in B&C stock with Zeiss Conquest 3-9x40.
