What is this and how do I kill it? I cleared and area 3 years ago when I bought a piece of property. It was a grown up mess the the people before me had dumped everything known to man . I have sprayed this with cornerstone and 24d. They will wilt it but it comes right back. It seems to be in the area where my dozer guy pushed the pile to burn when he cleared it 3 years ago. I plant this field and am tired of this stuff taking over in that one area.

I'm not sure?....but I've got a "what is this" weed question too....I'll wait till you get your answer then I'll jump in with my pic...I'm in the same boat....two of our newer plots have a particular weed I want gone.

This looks like a flowering plant I once encountered, hollow stems, can get over 6 ft tall in good soil, is not native! Look for a jointed tuberous root. I never learned what this was but was nearly impossible to eliminate. Repeated sprayings and mowings. I won that one by not allowing it to mature for 2 growing seasons. Be sure to use a surfactant with your herbicide. Crossbow works wonders on hard to kill plants with high energy root systems.
Its either that or plow and pick up roots repeat.
