Is this anything other than the proverbial flat rock that the cow used when it rained so hard?

It appears to be some type of primitive mortar that could have been used to grind corn or wheat.
Anyone have any idea what it could be?

I found it in a creek bed close to the Tenn. River.

Could very well be used to grind / mash corn or something.
Maybe someone will see this that actually knows. ;)

Hawk, a friend of mine found a rock like that many years ago, he went back looking the next day and found a "rock grinding pedistal" that fit the rock just perfect
Thanks CL
When I get back up there I will have to see if I can find the pedistal that matches it.

I have exactly the same type rock. The rock you have is used to sit on your knees. And you have another smaller round one that grinds the corn. I was able to find the same type rock. I found the grinder with mine. If I knew how to post pictures. I would show it off.
