just wondering what the rut was doing around everybody else. I live in moore county and the scrapes are starting to show up but no sign of any chasing yet. Alot of old timers around here say that the week of thanksgiving (if the weather has been right) is peak rut for this area, with the cold nights and cool day temps things should start happening in a couple weeks. Let the big boys come out to play :grin:
 
Sat in the stand from 6:30 to 10 and saw nothing but squirrels. Walked around for about 30 minutes and then decided to take it to the house.

Southern Marshall county - daughter and I just saw cruising this morning while dad saw chasing this morning and this afternoon. Two shooters. Dry (except from being wet from rain) for daughter and I this afternoon.
 
Only seen two chases since last Saturday one being a 4 pt and the other a spike while the two mature bucks were fighting like crazy !! Seen a lot of cruisers and several following doe. This is in West Tn, Weakley Co.
Today was the first day I did not see anything on stand......my fiance` wanted to go so I think that was my bad omen !! Lol

In Hardin ........ the young spikes are dogging a few does, but they don't want to have anything to do with them. Couple of the big guys "sniffing" around but not the normal chasing seen.
 
Slows ruts not here yet by far the slowest week so far the whole season. If we can keep decent weather it should be rocking this opening day of rifle through thanksgiving. a few small bucks are starting up but does ain't ready and most bucks arent either.
 
Young bucks were starting to pester does Thursday. That seems to have been brought to a halt with this warm weather over the weekend. Seems really slow still. Mature bucks still nocturnal according to my cameras. Nobody on adjoining property is seeing anything either.
 
Saw a 4pt chasing Friday night, saw a big buck bird dogging a doe Saturday morning, as did my buddy on the other side of the farm in Gibson County. By 8am, it was over, and no one else saw a rack buck all weekend. Think it started, and may be going on at night, but maybe with the cold front this week, we'll see it happening in the daytime
 
Hickman hunted till ten notta....drivin down the dirt rd.just below my stand and the biggest buck I've ever seen live steps out arrghh he trotted right back towards my stand I have a 148 on my wall and I would say he was pushing 160 easy!had the old lady's dad moovin in so had to come home but he didn't spook bad from the truck so I might still have a chance,he was by himself,might go afterhim tonight or in the a.m.
 
Humphrey's County - Hunted Saturday a.m. and p.m. and Sunday morning in rain. No buck activity, saw a doe/fawn. The ML opener weekend we saw 3 bucks and 5 does. Rut is usually Nov. 21 near Cuba Landing.
