I noticed this weekend that something is digging holes in one of my clover fields. There are several of them all over it. The holes are 4-6 inches around and about as deep. What could it be?

I would bet Armidillo. Skunk would be second guess.

Armadillos are most likely. They have really started hitting my friend's fields hard in the evenings right at dusk. It's becoming a hazard to walk across the field in low light.
I ended up hunting them in February, because the squirrels were on lockdown. they moved into the woods and were rooting around a lot, so you could hear them pretty well when the wind was still.
Fun to hunt with a .22
