What I didnt like about the "Classic"

I sure hated that they showed them fishing so close together like that.Not a good lesson,plenty of inconsiderate fishermen out there now.

I cant believe they fish lke that but Im not sure about the rules,sometimes it looked like they could cast into eash others boat.

most tours i fish you have to stay 50yds or even 100yds away from another angler, i guess the classic is different cause they were only few feet away at times. i didn't much like it either.

what was funny to me is when alot of the guys made the 2 hour boat ride. i couldn't do that, they only had 2 hours to catch fish.

I didn't have a problem with it. These guys pre-fished the areas and found fish. No one knew they other was going to be there before they made the trip. You have to be considerate of the other angler but when there is $500,000 on the line for the winner and that's just the paycheck not counting all the other money you get, you have to stick to the plan you think is gonna work the best.

Ever tried crappie fishing or fishing for stripper when the birds start diving? Guys will run you over. It's a lot worse out there than what I saw on TV last night.

Now what I do have a problem with... I was fishing a small bragging rights tourney last weekend. I was fishing the down river side of a point on Douglas. Another boater was fishing the up river side of the other point. A boater came riding right behind my boat and right up into the cove both boats were working into with the big motor running. I could have tossed him a bag of pnuts he was so close. The 2 guys motor to the back of the cove and make 1 cast. Then they come out and ask both boats if we were having any luck? Their return comment... scouting for an upcoming tourney. Now that, chaps my butt. You can fish all day right beside me as long as you do it respectfully. I watched this boat come all the way down the bank from probably 3/4 mile away. He ran right up on everyone like it was no big deal... all with outboard running. Probably passed within 10 yards of 5 boats. No telling how many more he did the same to that I didn't see.

Didn't see a problem with it. All of them sort of worked together and all were in agreement of being in that spot. Martens even made a comment that when KVD moved out of his spot that he caught a keeper out of it and then KVD went into his spot and caught a big fish out of his.

As far the guys that made the 2 hour runs compared to the guys that stayed close. That was a risk that they were willing to take, they were willing to give up the fishing time to make those runs. They all whacked when they got there but just did not have enough time to cull up.

Duck, He was using his 1.5 in chartreuse/black back, as was Martens, and Rook. I watched the press conference afterwards online and he said although all 3 were using he same bait, he was fishing his much slower than Rook and Martens and even yelled at Rook and told him to slow his retrieve down.

it was amazing how many big sacks and huge fish were caught on the last day out of that same hole of water. just like alot of the pro's, i didn't think would hold up. great place to fish for sure!

I lost all respect for pro fishermen years ago. A friend an I both decided it would be neat to fish with one so we both forked over the $500 each that was required at the time to fish with the Pros for 2 days in a BASS tournament on Old Hickory. It was the worst spent $500 he and I ever spent. Without calling any names 3 of the 4 Pros we were matched up with were complete jerks and I lost all respect for them as professionals. Funny thing was my friend actually out fished his pro partner the first day and it really ticked him off to the point he asked him not to cast into an area until he gave him the ok. I rarely watch them anymore.

It was the worst spent $500 he and I ever spent. Without calling any names 3 of the 4 Pros we were matched up with were complete jerks and I lost all respect for them as professionals. Funny thing was my friend actually out fished his pro partner the first day and it really ticked him off to the point he asked him not to cast into an area until he gave him the ok. I rarely watch them anymore.

There are jerks in everything but not all of them. I fished the same tournament on OH if you are referring to the Elite Series that was there a few years ago. I made the cut and fished three days. All of my guys were top notch and very courteous. I fished with Todd Faircloth on the second day. He is a top notch guy. He is very quiet but one heck of a fisherman. He gained a lot of respect from me though. We pulled on an open water spot and started fishing. He had just caught a good one and I hung a big one that got me wrapped up. He did not hesitate to head in after it to help me out even though it was going to hurt the spot. There are still some good guys out there.

Well said. Another factor that alot of people do not think about is that those guys are out there making a living. While most of us are out for the joy of fishing. Fishing is the way that those guys pay there bills and take care of their families. I do not blame some of them for being a little "nervy". Like everything in life there is a few bad apples but for the most part most of the guys on tour are great guys.

i have fished the same area the classic was filmed at, both are awesome places under the right conditions. dowm river u had better know what and where u going are u are in big trouble. i use to live about 40 miles from where kvb caught his fish
