I handload. 100 grain Partitions out west. Stepped down to 95 partitions when I moved to Tennessee. Going to try 90 Accubonds this coming year. I am gettin close to 2850 FPS with the 95's. The cheapo Barska scope stopped moving the zero after about 30 rounds (50?) and is now locked on zero.

I reload everything I own. For the .243 I use Hornady 100 gr. B.T.S.P's.
Very accurate in my rifle [T/C Encore] and great terminal performance.

I handload a 100 gr Nosler Partition. If my .243 likes the 85 gr Barnes TSX or 80 gr TTSX, that would be my load. in Factory ammo, I like those bullets, and the 95 gr Fusion.

I have had good luck with most brands but the fed with serria 100g carrys over 100lbs to 400y.good enuf for me

Deer shot with 100gr.Sierra Game Kings don't even make it 30yrds.

3yrs ago I was experimenting with my .243 with different bullets.
One afternoon I shot a doe @200yrds,-- she made it 30yrds.

The same afternoon 20-30mins later a 8pt.-- he ran a circle and fell dead in his tracks.

I agree the bullet probably fragmented more than it should, but I'm not complaining, for it was a afternoon hunt!!

When I gun hunt I usually carry a lever, but when I do carry a bolt it's a 243 and I have a Dos Equis. Nahh, just joshing. I've had excellent luck with the 100 grain Sierra Pro Hunters and Gamekings. Plowed through some bone with them on several occasions and they held up better than I heard they would. I'm only pushing them about 2800fps though.

A buddy uses the 100 grain Remington Core Lokts and has had really good luck with them on some heavy bodied deer but again, he's not pushing them more than about 2800fps out of his little Model 7.

You should never mix guns and alcohol. Everyone knows you drink the beer first then shoot the empty cans. Makes for an obvious seperation of guns and booz.
