This buck has been a regular at my back yard. He started on acorns a few weeks back, then moved on to my feeder. And NO, I do not hunt off my back deck, nor in the wooded thicket behind my house. But I do enjoy watching deer and showing them to my grandson. Now, back to my question. Do you think this is a growth that will go away? or something else?

Hard to tell on the pic, but my guess is papillomas (warts). Deer can do just fine even if his vision is poor in that eye. I have a buck hit by a car 4 years ago with his left side of the head crushed and blind on that side that is now 6.5 and still doing great on my farm

For what it's worth, in 40+ years of hunting, I have never killed a buck of his size. However, I cant get into killing deer from my deck (feeder is 20 yards from my deck). The woods above the feeder is thick with rocky ledges which prevents me from hunting. My only choice would be to hunt from my son's property that connects to the thicket, about 300 yards out the ridge. I watched these two this evening from my front deck.

Don't blame you Encore. As tempting as it would be, I couldn't shoot them off my back deck either. I love watching them.
