Your turkey beards, feathers, and spurs after a harvest? I keep all my beards in a ziploc bag of salt until I get the mounting kit for a tail fan mount. I haven't kept all to many spurs, mainly due to losing them. But my freezer is full of tail mounts I haven't finished yet, but I'm just curious to what others do with them.

After my beards dry out I put them in old business card boxes ( they are the perfect size. I put my spurs on a leather string that I have. I keep one fan a year, just so I can replace the feathers on B-Mobile.

I really wish I would have saved at least all my spurs but I havent. I just dont have room nor the want to put up so many tail fans and such. So I just toss them. I do wish I kept the spurs on a line though.

i kept all that stuff for years but after about 40 birds it becomes an issue trying to find places for it. I just keep the spurs now and the rest I try and give away if people want them.

Other than a few random sets laying around, most of my Spurs and fans have been trashed. I put a new fan in the 'Pretty Boy' occasionally, and I have a couple full capes hanging in the house, but thats about it. I do have the most of my beards, I just start with a gallon ziploc until its full and then start another one as needed. I wish I could find something that I like to use all my beards in for display, but nothing has caught my eye. I definitely wont be stringing them on a necklace, like I have saw some people do with their spurs, then actually wear them in public, LOL I have been embarrased for a few people over the years! Kinda like trying to carry all the bucks racks with you that youve ever killed! LOL A nice display at home should be more than sufficient IMO!

i put all my beards on the wall and spurs on a string. i have a couple of fans on the wall but don't need any more so i throw them away unless i need to replace the one in b-mobile.

I keep all my beards which my wife hates and i give the rest away or trash. My wife thinks the spurs and fans look like indian artifacts.

I saw a guy at the NWTF convention that used the spurs in a necklace. Cut each leg just above and below the spur, then ran a cord through the center bone along with a few beads for decoration. Looked pretty neat, kind of "Mountain Man" appearance.

I don't know what I'll do after I have a few birds under my belt, but I know for sure my first bird will have a tail/beard/spur mount, and I will save a lot of the other feathers and the wing bones as well. Not sure what I will do with all the feathers other than make some pens out of the wings. Been making ball point pens out of wing feathers I find in the woods.

i always keep the beard and spurs i have quite a few fans around but my cousin does some craft crap and i usually end up giving her turkey feathers so that she can use them
