What do turkeys usually do during rain?

They stand in fields during rain a lot of times. Unless heavy downpour, then they shelter under trees/bushes.

Ive killed them in any weather you can imagine, from blizzards to tornadoes to 100 sweltering degrees. ALL of those have been on out of state trips though, if its doing any of that crap here, Im staying HOME!

Killed several in a light rain doing their normal stuff. Heavy rain seems to shut them down. I don't hunt in lightning/ tstorms

Nothing better than hunting 30 minutes after a long rain ends. After they've had a chance to fluff back out, they seem to want to make up for the break they took during the rain.

They do seem to roost down lower on the hills and often in the valleys with severe weather and wind.

I'll keep this in mind

Have seen field birds take shelter under cedar trees or pines to escape the rain. In a heavy, ongoing downpour, I've seen birds fly up along a field edge & wait for the rain to stop, then fly down & hold their wings out like buzzards to dry, continually flapping.

Must be a good shot to kill one in a tornado! 😁
Hey, when youre 14 hours from home, you hunt when you can hunt! It wasn't ACTUALLY a tornado, just tornado warnings lol. Those KS roads turn to GREASE when it rains too btw. I think we got stuck twice that day while on county roads! One time we had to get a farmer down the road to bring his 4x4 tractor to get us out, the other time we used a HUGE rock as a launch pad to jump us back up in the road! GOOD TIMES! :D

Saw 3 gobblers today, they stayed just out of range .

I asked the rabbit if he saw any turkeys and he said he just got out of bed and hadn't seen anything.
Found the beagle a chew.
And some tracks.
