When i used a 12 gauge i'd use a mod. but now all i use is my .22

I am right the opposite from stik.
I use a modified when the leaves are on the trees simply because when they are all the way out on the end of a limb cuttin and you can't see the actual squirrel you can just bust the entire bunch of leaves up and drop the tree rat out.
Then full when the leaves are gone because I can't get as close to them then.
Or, usually go to the .22 when the leaves fall.

Gotta admit it was hard and still is.
I have killed a few dogs, eagles and the occasional stray child up there about 60 foot up and all the way out on the end of a limb the size of a pencil.
