A couple days ago i pulled up to my parents house and to my surprise there was 3 bucks standing in the yard. A couple was pretty nice with one already being out near his ears. My grandparents own the property and dont mind what i really do it. I dont really have access to equipment to plant food plots. Its a large piece of property that was logged about 15 years ago. A creek runs through it at the begining of the holler. Its really really thick to. I've not been able to hunt it but a couple times in the past few years. But there has been a couple nice bucks killed off of it. Any ideas on something i can put down (trophy rock, etc..) that would help attract or keep the deer around. Maybe try and cut some shooting lanes or what? Thanks for the help.

Definatelf put a TR out and see what they do. And definately try to get out there to hunt it more often this year. Sounds like it will hold deer on their property. I'm sure theres a few trees you can get in and cut some trails through there.....the deer will start using the trails you make

Its just so thick and hard to hunt. I'm afraid if i cut lanes that it will spook the deer off. You think it would?

Nope, as long as you make those cuts as long before season opens as possible (preferably in winter).

Would making those cuts this week be to close to season?

start cutting right now and you'll be good! also put you out a salt block

Does TSC sell salt blocks? Would those work? Any difference between brands or are they pretty much the same? Thanks

No,back when I ran heavy equipment,we use to see deer tracks on the ground the day after we cleared a place.
