a few warm days make. I live on a 8 acre lake that is 15-16 feet deep in places. Last weekend my son fished both days throwing everything we own deep and shallow and couldn't get bit. This afternoon he went out and was catching bass on shallow running crankbaits and top water. He said they were aggressive and fought hard. Just amazes me how fast a few warm days fire them up. And yes, I'm going with him tomorrow afternoon.

We caught 8 bass between 12 and 13 inches this afternoon. Not great, but considering the lake was froze over a week ago, it's not bad. We had some good father/son time anyway.

You ain't kidding. I went fishing at Edmund Orgill one day last week after work during the warm spell. I caught one crappie, but got a lot of bites. Pretty good since it was so cold a few days earlier.

Should be warming up soon...meaning more fishing opportunities!

I almost hooked up to my big boat and tried spider rigging at Orgil. I hear there are some crappie in there. How big are the ones you catch?

Eh, nothing to brag about. But I'm fishing from the bank, so I am limited in area I can cover. If you go deep, you might find then with a fish finder.

A few years ago, I saw a woman who caught a crappie about as long as your forearm. She caught it on a cricket fishing from the pier/dock. So there's probably some crappie in there, you just have to find them.

Normally the middle of Orgill is 9-10 ft deep, coves are 3-5 feet deep, North end opposite from the ramp is 6-7 ft. There are a handful of spots that get up around 12 ft.
