I decided that in addition to mowing the family cemetery I would head over to my hunting farm and mow the old deer camp. This was the first time since last year so it was super high. I hit a deer skull with a small 8 point rack, that was loud. When all was said and done though I am just about ready to pull the camper up there for some fun in the sun. I'm also going to get an early start on getting my trail cameras out now that I have retired from the day job. It's going to be a great year!

Retirement............that sure is a refreshing word to ponder! Have fun! I'm still having to fit all that into the cracks between work days and it don't fit too well.
 
I had an awesome retirement ceremony. I got my shadowbox, my duty weapon in a presentation case, a gold watch and a retired Officer badge. Now I can get back to working on the farm. The front tires on my tractor were so rotten I had to buy new ones. One of my back tires was flat. I went to Co-op and got my rear tube patched and two new front tubes and tires mounted. I had to bring the wheels home because there was rust inside the wheel near the valve stem that popped the tube. After sanding that out and painting the wheels I should be back in business tomorrow. Tractors, implements and land are a monumental pain in the keester. Nothing is ever easy.

Very happy to be on the retired Officer list at work though. Plenty of time to get it done.

New tires are mounted and the old Ford 3000 is ready to start on deer camp 2017/18. I'm going to bush hog everything Sunday. Those new tires are sure confidence builders. I can't wait.
