Hard mast- white oaks...few and far between even on limb in Jackson, TN area. Soft mast nonexistent. Multiple properties- other updates?
 
My monster white oak has the gall wasps again and not a single acorn again. This time the leaf drop is much much more severe. The infestation seems less but the damage is more intense. I fear for my tree as there is no resolution-no cure.

I'm thinking of the systemic poison stuff. Kinda hate what that will do to the squirrels but I am at wits end.
 
Seeming some acorns dropping from white oaks around my home near Memphis. Seems lighter than last year so far. Same deal out where I hunt. Acorns on the ground but not in large quantities.

My observations thus far as well, all in Fayette and Hardeman counties.
 
Not enough scouting here but I see (like always) plenty of red oak acorns in the trees and already on the ground. White oak are spotty but I found a few.
 
They are dropping good at Chickasaw but I can't find any on our place in Hardeman county

Hit and miss here on whites, north of jackson. Some trees pretty decent and some have none. Plenty of reds. Few spots on our place have a fair amount of acorns on the ground. Noticing a lot of locust pods on the ground.
 
North Hardin county red oaks loaded about 60 per cent white oaks but the ones that have acorns are very large. Non dropping.
Southern Hardin county. Red oaks loaded white oaks about 70 per cent. Found one hollow dropping. Deer sign galore.

Another Hardeman county data point...same. Haven't seen the first persimmon, put the binocs on numerous red and white oaks...there's a few but not many.
 
White oaks are dropping like crazy in my yard in Shelby. Change seemed to happen in the last week.
