I have been wanting a Kentucky or Pennsylvania Long Rifle for quite some time now. I have been looking around at different builders, kits, suppliers, etc.

Well, two days ago I came across a deal almost too good to be true, but is. I am now the owner of a NIB, .50 cal Pedersoli Kentucky long rifle.

I really was not big on the brass patch box in the butt stock, that is why I was leaning towards the Pennsylvania version, it was more plain and non fancy looking, more my style. But, for the price I got this gun for................I will compromise and finally have my longrifle.

I've been into the traditional muzzle loading sport since the early 70's. Been a member of the National Muzzle loading Rifle Association for about as long. Always thrilled to see someone new interested in the old style of muzzle loaders.

Well, it arrived!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TODAY.

In mint shape, as discribed.

I do need to polish up the brass a bit, but other than that. I need to pick up some patches and round balls, then off to the bench to see how she shoots.

Weather is supposed to be crappy for the next few days, maybe over the weekend I can get some smoke to roll.

Although the gun is NIB and never fired, it sat for two yrs. It is in excellent condition, but the brass needs to be polished up and I am giving her a good cleaning and barrel seasoning.

The weather is sorta crappy today, so my afternoon will be spent tearing her down and cleaning her up.

When I was a boy my first MZ was almost identical to this one. It was a .45 cal Kentucky with the lil patch door in the stock. I killed my first MZ deer with it when I was a youngster. That ol gun shot great out to about 75 yards with the ol Wedge and V iron sights!
