Decided to sell my boat . I've had it quite a while and we just don't use it much. Had a guy come Saturday to check it out and he bought it . I thought wow that was pretty easy sale. Wrong. He text me later and said it had a bunch of damage on the bottom. I am beside myself, I told him I'd give him his money back or money towards the repair . He was a super nice guy and wants to keep the boat and get an estimate on getting it fixed. After racking my brain the only thing I can think of is a few weeks ago after getting it worked on I took it to the river to test it out. It was a mess and I did hear a couple bumps but didn't think anything about it. I've babied this thing for 8 years and then this happens 🤦🏻‍♂️

I have to agree he might have done it and is looking for a way out of paying the repairs. But it's honorable that you are standing behind your sale.

I had the guy who bought my '04 Ram come back and ask if it had an oil leak. I reminded him I told him that the main oil seal leaked a smidge. Used about a quart of oil every 3,000 miles. It is a 21 year old truck. WTH

I dont know about this one, didnt check the hull at purchase? The most I would do is he gets it fixed and repair paid for and you MAYBE pay 1/3 of the proven cost of repair. Get shop contact info so you can reach out to them too. Being nice is one thing, making up in a shortfall such as this is another.

That repair would most likely cost more than the boat. I am assuming water got into the foam of that boat from the looks of it.

The wood looks very dark like a long time water issue, I could look at it up close and tell if a clean crack or dirty,
