Fun time on the water this weekend, but as it always does about April 1, the pre-spawn crappie bite I love so much has ended. Most of the quality fish we found this weekend were shallow. And because I was stubborn, searching for the huge pre-spawn concentrations of crappie we were on a week ago, we didn't move shallow until late in the morning. Especially aggravating because Kelley and Taylor Swift were supposed to fish with me last weekend, but we got blown out by Sunday's severe weather :(
Gary (Allen) and I got a little wet on Saturday, but me and the Swift's sure couldn't complain about Sunday's Easter weather. Not the best for fishing... but an absolute joy to fish beneath warm, clear blue skies with no wind.
We did find some great quality fish Sunday ... most on stumps in 5 - 6 feet of water, or on brush.
I even managed to make a few "gentle" casts with my bum arm this weekend (Please don't tell my Doctor ;) ). That means life really is good and gettin' better everday. :grin:
