Anyone planning to hunt Wednesday? It looks to be clear but another ultra cold day. I want to take my son but I don't have appropriate clothing for him for those temps.

I want to hunt tomorrow, but they are calling 100% rain all day. Then Wednesday they are calling for 20 mph winds. I can handle the cold but cold + wind= me not hunting.

I agree 100%. Cold I can handle but cold and high winds...nope.

I am off tomorrow, will have my tree umbrella. I should get off Wed early, but dang the 20 MPH winds.

Thursday should be good in the AM. it will be colder than I like, but hardly any wind.

I just realized how windy wednesday is supposed to be so.... nope, I'm gonna be in the house baking pumpkin pies and preparing my baby jake fall turkey for T-day

but T-day morning I would like to be in the woods if I can. with 5,301 hothands in every pocket

im going to get up at 5am and see what the wind is doing. if its blowing good ill go back to sleep. but if i dont hunt im going to do some scouting.

I'm intending to go in the morning in spite of the cold and wind. I may come whimpering back to the house in a couple of hours but I've already missed hunting today because of the rain. I've got to make an attempt at least tomorrow morning!

Besides, yesterday morning the wind was howling good when I saw 2 bucks cross the field going towards the blind I intend to sit in tomorrow. Also saw a doe go in that same general direction a while later. The problem with the wind though is spotting the subtle movement of a deer mixed in with every limb, twig and leaf in the woods swaying constantly. With all the rain we've had and the wet leaves, you sure won't hear one coming.

I'm going despite the high winds... Planning on shooting the first thing I see so I can come home. Got the next 5 days off and planning to take full advantage!!

I'm thinking about going out in the morning as I won't be able to hunt again until MAYBE Sunday afternoon.

But I just looked at the forecast and it says 7:00am 26 degrees 15mph Wind with 20mph gusts.
I don't mind sitting in the cold wind as long as there is a reward!

I skipped today because of the forecasted rain. I'm planning on being there in the morning hunkered down. The deer are doing their thing and at prime time I've already laid out 2 days. I just got home from the store and at 2PM I saw deer running 4 different locations. I can warm up later, lol. Next week has about 3 or 4 days scheduled for rain all day.

We went out Sunday afternoon with my 6 year old. Has a pop up blind and a little Buddy Heater from Dicks and he didn't complain for a second. Thing put out enough heat around him I moved it away from him. Had deer all over us and smell didn't seem to bother them. Could have been the hard winds gusting that they couldn't us but it kept us warm.

What are your thoughts on hunting the opposite side of the ridge where the wind is blowing? Looking at a NW wind tomorrow morning and im planning on settling in on the south side face.I hunt east tennessee. Either way it wont be as cold and the deer might think the same thing!!

I'll be out there but probably not in the stand. 30mph gusts make sitting in a tree about like a rodeo.

I'll be in the blind ready to shoot the buck chasing the first doe I see!

I sat thru the wind Sunday and let a good one go at 6:30. I'll be there Wed-Sun. The time is right!
