Hey guys im thinking about buying a weatherby vanguard series 2. All of the reviews ive read indicate these guns perform as advertised, at a very reasonable price too. Does anybody here own 1 or has owned one of these new vanguards. They advertise sub moa with quality ammo. I handload, so i should be able to tinker until i figure out what it likes. Like i said, they get rave reviews, but i just wanted to ask here

The Weatherby Vanguard is made by Howa in Japan. Supposedly, reportedly, every rifle made is test fired at the factory. The ones that can live up to the Weatherby guarantee get boxed up as Vanguards. The pones that don't are bioxed up as Howa's.

You are correct, every review I have ever seen or heard of reports excellent accuracy fit and finish. I think the only downside is they did not use to produce anything but the most popular calibers.

Thats what i thought. Cant find anyone who actually owns one.

I got one, its a little souped-up, but it's a tack driver. I love it. Took it out West because it weights 6 3/4 lbs.

I had one in .257 Weatherby Mag. It was an absolute tack driver. Sold it to someone on here a few years back. Was having a hard time justifying the $60 a box for ammo as I don't reload. Have thought about getting another one in 30-06.
