There were some very rude comments made in the buck limit thread (very sad to see some TNdeer members aren't mature enough to make it through a simple thread with a request of no arguments)

Hunting the whitetail deer is a sport that has been enjoyed for many years. There are several methods of going about it. We see people who use the standard tree stand or ground blind method, still hunters, dog hunters, deer drives, trackers, and countless other tactics to tag the deer they desire so greatly whether it be a little button buck to make a nice tender meal or record book class set of antlers to hang on the wall.

I have noticed hunters getting too caught up in labeling others. We are all hunters. It does not matter if we are a "brown it's down" freezer filler, a fair chase "trophy hunter" looking for the most challenging way to kill a mature buck, or a high fence "trophyist" who simply wants to spend his or her money on a very nice set of antlers. It doesn't matter if we are a "bow hunter" or a "gun hunter." We are all doing what we want and so long as it is legal we should not disrespect a fellow hunter. If we do truly hate a particular way of hunting, it should be diacussed in a civil manner and both parties should have an open mind about the others opinion.

Do not forget that hunter happiness should come first. If you let a little basket rack 8 point walk, you should not expect your neighbor to also do so, and you should be happy to see the smile on their face when they kill it. If someone let what you consider a wall hanger walk because they didn't feel it was big enough, be proud someone is patient and trying to help the deer herd. Do not label them a trophyist.

Good luck to everyone.. Go shoot a button buck or a trophy buck.. Whatever makes you happy!

Good post. I guess I made one boarder line rude comment on the buck limit thread and i do apoligize for it. I think TWRA does a good job on balanceing the needs/ hunting ways of everyone.

I knew you didn't really mean it when you accused some people of voting for obama....there was no way you could mean THAT in a serious way!

Yep, this is supposed to be fun so we should all try to keep it that way.

Thats all fine and dandy.
Lets just face it.
Bigger is better when your serious about it.

With that said, to each his own.
I will keep letting 10 pointers under 150 walk.
Ive had my share of scrub bucks and if you want the challenge it is the way to go. Let the little ones walk.

However if you need the meat and or you are taking a juvenile by all means take the deer of choice.

Not everyone is a brown and downer but at some point most all hunters move on to the next best thing and that is actually hunting a specific deer and not just what happens to walk out while you are pounding on some rattling horns.

Make no mistake, Im all for anyone taking the buck of choice but you have to realize some hunters are in it for different reasons.
