I have permission to hunt a 50 acre piece of land that has no water on it what so ever. IT does have a little stream running through it,but it quickly dries up when we go a little bit with no rain. And the only other year round water source is 1 pond about a half mile down the road, but I know the owner and he shoots at any deer he sees, because his garden is right beside it and the deer hammer it,so I don't think they are useing it much. And then the next water source is probably a mile away as the crow flys, thats a long way to travel for water.I know the area good, its where I was raised and know the woods real well,so im fairly confident theres no other water source close by.
My idea was to put water beside my salt lick in front of my camera, which also happens to be infront of my stand. Its a little 20 gallon plastic planter that I got from lowes.. Do you think it would be a waste to try to put a little water on the property to help hold em in during the early season, like now through October? I have 2 of them, was gonna put 1 by each stand..
