Have fun planting your food plots and hanging your stands but be careful. I have already parked over a nest of yellow jackets and got them stirred up, found an Eastern striped scorpion under some tin and this guy came slithering out from under the bush hog. The wasps are about to get eradicated, The scorpion disappeared into the grass and the copperhead was relocated to an overgrown field where he could eat mice to his heart's desire.

 
Cannot be too careful with picking things up and looking where you step. Especially bad when the leaves start falling and they hide under the leaves. Not seen too many copperheads this year yet, but know they are around. Have had them under my little tractor in the shed. Will never forget the first time, for whatever reason that time I opted NOT to grease the fittings on the gauge wheels and mower deck like I usually do at least before every other cutting. Started up the diesel engine and let it idle a few minutes before backing out and a 3 foot long water moccasin was under the mower deck. Would have surely gotten me had I gotten to fooling with greasing fittings. I back out of the shed before greasing the fittings ever since.

That said, agree about the scattered pieces, best kind of venomous snake is a dead one.

You may be right. I'm a herpetology aficionado and love seeing our resident reptiles do their thing. This one was effectively blind as he was about to shed his skin. He just wanted to get away. My philosophy is to be a good steward to every creature God sees fit to give us. I will be rewarded this fall with a Humphreys wall hanger, hopefully.............

 
I am positive Ticks, chiggers, and mosquitos originated in Hell.

Or, Eve asked for them to keep Hubby at home.
 
I would dispatch the Chiggers, Mosquitos and ticks the same way I will wipe out the yellow jackets. Being a Cop myself I can't just violate the law at will, I have to embody it so the snake gets a pass.
