Saw this on TV. Warne scope mount.
From what I could tell the point is that a scope can easily be moved from gun to gun.

You could buy a very expensive,high quality scope,and put it on any gun you plan to shoot, without loosing zero.

Anyone have one?
Is this too good to be true?
 
I dont see how moving it from one gun to another without rezeroing could work. I can see removing the scope and reinstalling it on the same gun could work. My .02 cents.
 
Ok,

From what I have read and see in print, No!!!

Here is the catch, you can successfully remove a scope and remount it back to the same rifle without supposedly loosing zero OR have more than one scope sighted in to the same rifle and interchange the scopes on said rifle without loosing zero.

Not change from gun to gun without changing zero.

EX: You are hunting with a rifle in close quarter shots and you like a 1.5-4X out to 100yds for FOV. Then next week you are out west with 300yd+ shots and you want the 4-12X.............click click and you switch scopes.

That is what their claim is.

I see your point.

I had this idea for a while now,and when I say it on TV, I thought someone had done it.
Sure would be nice to have a single $ 1,800 scope,and move it from gun to gun.

Nice, but not really possible.........to many variables to deal with. Caliber, bullet weights, etc.

I've got Warne mounts on several guns. Holds zero when it's taken off and put back on the same gun. Won't work switching it from one rifle to another. If your scope has accurate adjustments, it is possible to dial back to the setting for a particular gun/load combo if it's moved from one gun to another. I would definitely shoot it to be sure, though. These mounts are the best made.

So it is possible and pratical to go from one gun to another?

NO! not without resighting the gun

I have leupold quick release mounts on my slug gun so I can take off the scope and use the rifle sights if I need to. It works. The purpose is as mentioned above so you can use multiple scopes on the same rifle. I think this is quite common in states like Alaska where you would use the same rifle for moose as you would carribou but the terrain is vastly different so you would want a different scope for each situation.
 
That would work if you had several rifle scopes sighted in to one particular rifle, but you can't start swapping them out on different rifles and expect to be sighted in.
