I have been going to catoosa about the past 5 or 6 years deer hunting and I have never seen a hog while hunting down there. I have killed deer, and I dont care if I see a deer or not because I want to kill a hog. I have seen all kinds of hog sign and walked all over the rivers and creeks looking for one. I will probably be going to the first deer hunt down there and was wondering if anybody could tell me a specific spot to go to kill a hog?

Hard to say, but if it was me I would find the wallows and position my self between the wallows and where they are feeding and hope they come by before dark. Early in the year if it is still hot, you may do some good setting up over the wallows in the mornings and catching them returning from feeding.

I would focus on the drains leading to the obed on the east end. I am only familiar with the bicolor side. The genesis side may have better areas, but I have not hunted over there in 20 years.

Thank you I will look into that. I have hunted on both sides really, but I am usually in the middle of the whole place a lot of times unless I just get out somewhere.

I know they tear places up pretty bad, but I dont think they will get them out of there. I just hope I can finally kill one!

Hogs numbers will be cut back but they will drift back on Catoosa long after we are all gone on ahead. I wish you good luck in filling your license. The odds are not in your favor but a good day in the woods beats any day at work or something to that effect.

The odds aren't in his favor is he plans to deer hunt them thats for sure. Hog numbers will not be affected by much
