In Cool Springs they are just getting out their trees. No Dunstan trees, yet. I did see several other fruit trees but I am staying away from non disease resistant trees. As much as possible anyways.
 
I'm going to try and check Knoxville stores today and see if they have heard anything about the dunstons

It was kind of like the victrola dog from years ago with their head cocked sideways and a confused look on their face..lol

I'll check back later and see if they will be getting any.
 
Same in Algood and Cookeville. The grocery store stuff is out but not Dunstans. Burgess Falls has Limbertwigs this year, I was glad to see that and picked up a few.
 
I definitely don't need anymore trees!! I think I went overboard a little this year, and Steven Stone is partly to blame. :grin: He put me on a really good nursery near McMinnville, plus I've picked up a bunch more along the way.

So far, this is what I am planting at the house and the farm:
-4 different varieties of apples.
-Freestone peaches.
-Highbush Blueberry (native)
-3 other varieties of blueberries.
-Southern crabapple (and one other variety as a pollinator)
-Persimmon
-Allegheny Chinkapin
-American Hazelnut
-American Beautyberry
-Wild Plum

I even picked up a few Longleaf Pine from the NWTF convention at our booth. I am not within their historical range, but I'm going to give it a try.

And finally, just for Football Hunter, I have about six, 6-8 foot sawtooths that I'm going to plant. ;)

I'm about 50% done right now, but I still have a long way to go!
 
Quailman, is that all? Ha! When your done you can come help me finish planting. I only have about 40 more to go, unless I get stupid and buy more.
 
Whatever.....the first sale flyer with trees in it and you will there with bells on :grin:

Probably, this weekend we are planting( if everything goes right) 4 sawtooths, 8 blackberries, 2 raspberries, 2apple, 1 pear, crabapple and whatever else I get in my truck. Problem is a few of these are big. It's sucks digging the big holes when your soil is rock.
 
Tell ya what...I'll come dig holes and you can go to Atlanta with my Mother-in-law, brother-in-law and my wifes aunt to help my mother in law pack her house up. Yeah...that's my torture again this weekend. This time I'm taking a can of gas and a pack of matches.....

Actually,Im more of a Chestnut guy now,have several to plant.

I havent used a shovel much since I moved to TN. All I use now is a pick axe.
 
Wooly adelgids now on hemlocks in some areas of TN. Reminds one of the pine beetle infestation of 10+ yrs. ago.

Part of the success and failure with business is this very thing. Many businesses I see over promise and under deliver. It might be a pet peeve of mine but I try to under promise and over deliver. Look at the buzz they would create if the had done what they said. Surely by now they know what stores are getting what.
